Jeff Han: Unveiling the genius of multi-touch interface design
We're talking about a completely new way of interacting with graphical interfaces. Jeff Han makes an extremely important observation: "It's completely intuitive, there's no instruction manual, the interface just kind of disappears". A major challenge in designing complex informatics systems is to provide users with the right work flows, features and tools to complete their intended tasks without letting the interface get in their way. Today's operating systems, while they're providing novel ways of bubbling up key features and functions based on screen context and task, are still reliant on a primarily folder, window, panel, toolbar paradigm. Multi-touch Interface Design and it's stylus/tablet predecessor are about to revolutionize the personal computing experience. Enjoy!
